Terms of use
Last modified: 1 November 2025
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of digital reports hosted at www.bibli.report and related pages (the “Service”). The Service is operated by the founders of Bibli (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By viewing or interacting with a report hosted by Bibli, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. Questions? Contact hello@bibli.report.
1. What Bibli is (and isn’t) right now
Bibli is a publishing platform the founders use to create and host digital reports for clients. At this time:
- Bibli does not offer public user accounts and is not a consumer platform.
- Visitors can view reports; only Bibli’s founders (and their authorised collaborators) can upload or change content.
- Bibli collects analytics about report viewing as described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
The Service is intended for adult professional users and is not directed to children under 16. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old.
3. Your permission to use the service
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view reports on the Service for your personal or internal business use, subject to these Terms. Except where a report explicitly provides different licence terms, you may not:
- copy, reproduce, redistribute, frame, scrape, or create derivative works from the Service or any report content;
- reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code from the Service;
- use automated means (e.g., bots, scrapers) to access the Service;
- remove proprietary notices or attempt to circumvent security or access controls.
4. Intellectual property
4.1 Bibli IP
All software, design, and platform elements of the Service are owned by Bibli or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
4.2 Report content
Unless otherwise noted on a report, the content of each report (text, images, data, graphics, video, audio, and other materials) is owned by Bibli or the client/creator for whom Bibli produced the report, and is protected by copyright and other IP laws. Viewing a report does not grant you ownership or a licence to reuse that content. If a report provides specific reuse permissions (e.g., a Creative Commons notice), that notice governs.
4.3 Trademarks
Bibli names, logos, and marks are trademarks of Bibli. Other names and logos appearing in reports may be trademarks of their respective owners. No rights are granted to use any marks without prior written permission.
5. Content provided by others
Reports may contain third-party materials (e.g., embedded media, datasets, or links). Those materials are the responsibility of the party that makes them available. We do not guarantee their accuracy or availability and are not responsible for third-party sites or services.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any law or regulation;
- upload or transmit malware, malicious code, or anything that could interfere with the Service;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or related systems;
- engage in behaviour that is harassing, defamatory, hateful, or otherwise unlawful.
Because Bibli does not provide public upload features, general visitors cannot post content. If you believe any report content infringes your rights or is unlawful, please contact hello@bibli.report with details and the report URL.
7. Privacy, cookies, and analytics
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. Bibli currently collects analytics data (e.g., via Google Analytics) about how viewers interact with reports. By using the Service, you acknowledge our use of cookies/analytics as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Availability, changes, and support
We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Features and content may change without notice. Bibli does not promise any particular uptime or support level, but we aim to keep the Service reliable and secure.
9. Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant Bibli a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use and incorporate that feedback without restriction or obligation to you.
10. Disclaimers
The Service and all report content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bibli disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bibli will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of ZAR 1,000 or the total amount (if any) you paid to Bibli for access to the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; in those cases, the exclusions and limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Bibli (and its founders, contractors, and partners) harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your unlawful use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
13. Takedown requests (copyright or other rights)
If you believe content on a Bibli-hosted report infringes your rights, email hello@bibli.report with:
- your name and contact details,
- a description of the work or right you believe is infringed,
- the specific report URL(s) and location of the material, and
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised, and that the information in your notice is accurate.
We will review and act where appropriate, which may include removing or restricting access to the material.
14. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and Bibli agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa, and venue in Johannesburg (or another South African High Court having jurisdiction), for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. If you are a consumer and mandatory local law grants you additional rights, these Terms do not limit those rights.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last modified” date at the top will show the latest version. If you continue to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
16. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Bibli regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder will remain in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms; we may assign them as part of a reorganisation, merger, sale, or similar event.
- No agency. These Terms do not create any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship.
